do. Were currently seeking an accomplished, driven, result-oriented
Construction Manager with experience in managing multiple
construction projects concurrently with minimal supervision. This
position will report directly to the Senior Construction Manager.
The Construction Manager will manage multiple assigned ropeway
construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules
and budgets are met and that projects are completed safely and meet
Doppelmayr quality standards. Project locations include ski areas
across the US, tourism destinations and urban environments. This is
a management position that requires high level decision making on a
daily basis and close collaboration with the all member of the
construction department, other departments and stakeholders
including third party subcontractors and customers.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple construction teams.
- Collaborates with team members and other stakeholders in
initial planning stage of projects.
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, tools, and
materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary
limitations.
- Updates construction schedules and provides input in creation
of initial schedule.
- Manage housing for field staff.
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate
phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Supervise the work of technicians and laborers and provide
guidance when needed.
- Attends weekly job meetings and updates construction
department.
- Monitors job budgets, adjust budgets in collaboration with Sr.
Construction Manager, approves invoices.
- Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the
jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable
agreements.
- Collaborates with customers, supervisory staff, contractors,
and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including
work procedures, revisions, complaints, and construction or design
issues.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with a
variety of people, including owners, managers, designers,
supervisors, tradespersons, and craft workers.
- Oversees assigned construction sites, general contractors,
subcontractors and workers to ensure a high level of quality and
safety.
- Ensures that the projects are constructed and documented in
accordance with the contract documents, company standards and good
engineering practices.
- Collaborates with Doppelmayr engineering department on ongoing
construction process.
- Provides technical support to Project Managers and Doppelmayr
site personnel.
- Assists in change order estimating and supports the Project
Manager in change order negotiations.
- Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, reviews invoices and
submittals.
- Mange missing parts to minimize any delays in the construction
process.
- Assists in managing and reviewing the progress of
subcontractors construction schedules.
- Prepare monthly reports on the status and progress of the
contracts, including project costs and potential changes.
- Coordinates and schedules the work activities of staff,
tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, communicating to and via
project foreperson to deliver instructions and project assignments
as appropriate.
- Develop and train team members in best construction
practices.
- Regularly inspects work sites for safety, quality, and
timeliness, evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports. Your
Profile
- Bachelors degree in construction management or engineering with
3 years of experience or a minimum of 5 years of practical
experience in the construction industry in a supervisory
position.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in
all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching,
bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling software and
ERP systems.
- Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, construction codes,
specifications, and regulations.
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced
environment.
- Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well
under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or
delays.
- Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings,
and plans.
- Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to
construction and building sites.
- Thorough understanding of Doppelmayr quality practices and
standards.
- Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve
them.
- Knowledge of construction technology and processes.
- Familiarity with project budget process and tools.
- Knowledge of project controls.
- Risk assessment/management.
- Conflict management and problem-solving skills. Ability to sit
in for general Contractor license.
- Ability to travel up to 60% for multiple days nationwide.
- Ability to be on-call to address emergencies. Your
